Soon the construction of a brand new chassis designed by Trevor Harris and built here in the USA corrected the ills of the initial GTP project. The new drivers won 4 years consecutive drivers titles, and the manufactures title went for Nissan 3 years in a row. It would have been great to be there for the continuance of the GTP development. |
I loved life and people, being one of the lucky ones to accomplish something in racing, doing what I loved to do and making a living at it. There are many stories to share for all who wish to hear them. See you on the speaking tour - and race tracks! |
Miami 1986 was my last professional race |
On the long flight back home to California, I looked out the window. This was the opposite of that heady flight to Paris for my first Le Mans race. I reminded myself that I was 45 now, and had enjoyed more years of racing than Dan Gurney who retired at age 39. I'd survived when dozens of my friends had not. I was genuinely happy to be alive and well, and knew fate has it's ways of providing for another day. Little did I know I would be blessed with a future son, Anthony Quin, who would provide momentous pleasures and joys. |
